We’ve recently been alerted to a CubeCart 4 issue where various visitors do not see the shopping basket on Cubecart sites and are unable to purchase anything due to the ‘add to basket’ button doing nothing.
We have found a solution thanks to this post at fragged.org which fixes the problem by emptying the spiders.txt file in the web root. We have rolled out the fix to our clients regardless of whether the problem has appeared or not on their stores.

Please download the latest CubeCart v4 and replace your spiders.txt file.
even the latest download has the problematic spiders.txt file (2008) and that version of cubecart still hass the login issue and the add to cart issue. I have been waiting since early last year for this to be resolved and have been repeatedly told the issue cannot be duplicated and/or the issue has been resolved. Yet neither is true and at this point, it is consistenly impossible for me to add to a cart or sign into and account on my site from my own computer using Firefox.
