Testing websites in IE6, IE7 and IE8 on the same PC
As a web design studio we constantly have the requirement to test all the websites we build in the latest browsers, and as we develop on Apple Macs, it’s essential for us to be able to test on all IE versions.
As most designers are aware, installing multiple versions of Internet Explorer on the same PC can be quite tricky. Tredosoft’s Multi IE helped us to cope with this problem, but with the imminent arrival of IE8 (currently in Beta) and Vista’s awkwardness we now need to find an alternative solution.
So, whilst browsing the web for an answer, I stumbled across a program by the name “IE Tester”. IE Tester is a free Web browser that enables the rendering and javascript engines of IE8 beta 2, IE7, IE6 and works on both XP and Vista. So far, it has worked perfectly on our only PC in the studio!
